Great Videos for Teens

Do you know and love a teenager?

We currently have three in our lives and under our roof.

A single prayer rises up from my soul for each one of them. It’s found in Ephesians 1:17-19.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you … his riches … and his great power for us who believe.

Bible translators remind us of the immense value and importance of “heart language” when it comes to what matters most. For good or bad, the heart language of many teens and pre-teens today is a screen. I wince at this truth, but it contains great possibilities if we’re willing to harness its power.

As a family, we came upon a goldmine in Every Student.

The videos are short and sweet. (A helpful thing for ADHD kiddos.)

They have paved the way to great discussions. New places of prayer. Searching Scripture.

As parents, we are responsible for nurturing healthy biblical rhythms in our own lives, as well as the lives of our children.

How do we nurture stillness (personal prayer) in our teens?

There are many ways, but a critical step along the way is introducing them to the God who speaks their language.

When was the last time you prayed with your teenager?

  1. Yes, Brenda, so true! I wish I had the ability to get my teens to sit down and watch something really good. But I pray. And pray some more. That seems so small, but has so much power. One day…..
