Irresistible Invitation – Get Outside

cascade of falling leavesIf you live in the northern hemisphere, make sure you do not travel through the beauty of this season without finding a quiet place outside. Once there, sit and watch – marvel at the cascade, the dance, the twirl of falling leaves. Enjoy this wonder, and your soul will sing for the rest of the day.

These days, the weather, the splash of color, the clouds and the breeze are delightful. God’s trying to get your attention. Will He succeed?

Do you have 10 minutes? Go outside. If you have an additional 10 minutes, read this thought provoking post on Forest Therapy research from Japan. It’s an engaging, stand-out read, packed with brain-science info I won’t soon forget. Pine trees here I come!

Your turn! Join the conversation here or on Facebook and tell us about your favorite thing to do in the fall.

First time here? Welcome! We are a group that gathers around the theme, “There has to be a better way.” We’re finding it in the 4-word mission statement, “Run hard. Rest well.”

  • It’s a journey into the heart of God. It comes our way through an on-going exploration of four biblical rhythms that revive, replenish and restore: Sabbath Keeping, Sleep (and other simple stress-reducers), Stillness—personal retreat, and Solitude—personal retreat.
  • It’s an expedition that challenges us at every turn. It convicts us in deep, tender places. It alters our priorities and plans. It’s not for the faint of heart.
  • It’s an adventure at its best – as we learn to run the race, our race, God’s race in a power not our own.
  • First time here? Where to I begin…

First time here?

  1. LOL. It’s 10/1 at quarter to noon and 84 degrees. Mold has me straining to breathe. Go outside? No more then I have to, but I will look and enjoy the pictures of fall that I see.

    • Betty,
Imagine the twirl, the dive, the glide of falling leaves and listen for the crunchy rustle….while we pray for the mold to subside and for your breathing to improve. Praying!
