“New” Is a Glorious Word!

John the Baptist has a short, meaty message for our NEW Year.

By all outward appearances, John’s life was a short-lived failure.

He likely buried his parents while still a child.

His living conditions were dismal, at best.

Imprisoned and criminalized, he was beheaded on the whim of an evil woman.

John was faithful, fully committed to a rugged obedience.

He was a man on a mission.

Listen.  Listen to the words his mother spoke to her cousin, Mary.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! … As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.

Luke 1:42, 44

John’s journey began with joy.

Do you want your NEW Year to be marked by faithfulness and obedience?

Let it begin with joy.

First time here?
